Paddock Allocation
Monoposto has been allocated one side of the Inner Paddock. Vehicle access is via a large road tunnel under the circuit. On arrival follow signs to “Inner Paddock”. Power points are available in the two outer allocated blocks. If you do not need mains power then please set up in the centre allocated block if possible. Please set up tidily. We again have an excellent entry, and this is an ideal situation to show the Club at its best!

There are two Monoposto Drivers Briefings, both in Garage 35/36 on Saturday:

Rockingham 24/25 May
Rounds 5 & 6: St Cross Electronics Mono Championship
A reminder to send in your entry for Rockingham! It’s the first time the Club has visited this venue since the Club’s 50th Anniversary Event in 2008, and we would really like to see another big turn-out of Monoposto racers.
Please enter as early as you can. This is very helpful in terms of organisation, and remember that entry fee payments are not processed until 3 days before the event.
We will be using the 1.94 mile International Super Sports Car circuit at Rockingham (Circuit Layout B in the Blue Book), and will be based in the inner paddock. Monoposto will occupy one complete side of this large area, so it should be a relatively comfortable weekend. General Testing is available on this circuit layout on Friday 23 May, contact Rockingham on www.rockingham.co.uk/testing/test-day-calendar-rockingham.php for details and booking.
Rockingham runs anticlockwise and is the only circuit in the UK with a top-gear banked corner. It is an amazing venue, which isn’t used all that often, so this is a rare chance!
Spa Summer Classic: 27-29 June
We are just topping-off our entry list for this very popular event, so if you want to do Spa this year but have not yet entered you must contact me immediately and we will try to fit you in.
Mallory Park: 20 July
Our expectation is that this non-championship event will be going ahead, so make a note of it in your diary. The meeting is to be run by Classic Sports Car Club and will be the only car race event at Mallory this year. Following the circuit’s change of management, the 2014 track licence is expected to come through in the next couple of weeks, and we will then issue entry forms.
Contact: 9-18 May
I am out of the office from 9 to 18 May, but will have access to email. If you post in a Rockingham entry during this period please confirm by email that you have entered so I can keep our entry status up to date. If you need to contact me urgently while I’m away please send a text to 07770 368648 and I will call back.

The Monoposto SUNBAC Nova Award continues in 2013, and the winning novice drivers will win some race entries for the 2015 season.
Each eligible driver, ie one bearing the novice cross, accrues class points towards the SUNBAC Nova Award as per current Monoposto regulations.
This score is then multiplied by the number of class starters, and then divided by 10.

Provisional Entry List (issue 3)
Provisional Timetable (issue 5)
New: There is a new page on Monoposto website, called LIVE TIMING, and should display the live timing event from the meeting provided by TSL Timing. Also on that page is the MSVR twitter commentary. This is being tested at Donington and if successful will be used for the rest of the season.
On Saturday evening there will be a Darts Tournament will be run from 7 p.m. at the Club Hub. You can play in singles, pairs or teams, just let me know when you turn up at the circuit or during the day on Saturday what you are doing, so I can plan. We’ll start at 7 p.m. and run until we can’t see the dart board any more! We’ll play by 301 rules which, from my recollection from 20 years ago when I last played, is start with a double and end on a double.
I will state now that the board may not be at the regulation 68 inches from the ground, but we will try to get an Oche line 7 feet, 9 and a half inches from the board. It’s a magnetic dart board so the time limit rule on how long a dart needs to stay attached to the board will be reduced from 5 seconds to 2 seconds – a stiff breeze may result in a lot of no scores if we’re not careful.
There will be a small prize, probably edible.
Bring drinks, nibbles and chairs – entertainment will be provided by those of us that can’t throw well. If anyone wants to volunteer to referee, that would be great. Otherwise you can all suffer the dodgy refereeing by myself. Anyone good at maths can also volunteer – I’m useless! Pray for good weather.
If you wish to enter Donington Park please send your entry ASAP. It helps us manage the expected large entry to get entry forms in early. Payment is not processed until 3 days before the event.
The timetable has been set to enable those drivers in Mono2000 to also compete in F3 Cup at Silverstone at the same weekend…
Saturday:
Session 2 2000 / 2000 Classic Qualifying 09:30 to 09:45
Session 3 other classes Qualifying 09:55 to 10:10

Race with Monoposto at Mallory Park this year!
Monoposto has been asked if we can provide a grid for the only car race meeting that is currently planned at Mallory Park in 2014
Key details are:
· Sunday 20 July
· Race organisers are CSCC (who we know well)
· Non Championship race for The Brownhills Glass Trophy
· One grid, all Monoposto classes eligible
· £500 cash awards: Winner takes £250: Other class winners £50; plus trophies for all Classes
· 15 minute qualifier, 20 minute race
· Entry fee £175
Background:
As most racers will know, the company managing Mallory Park went into liquidation last year, and the future of the circuit looked in doubt. However a new management team is now in place. They are bike-oriented but also want to ensure car-racing continues at Mallory. The circuit has missed out on 2014 Championship dates, but CSCC has agreed to organise this car race meeting.
On 1st March the “new” Mallory held an Opening Day, which enjoyed massive support. The circuit looks to be in good nick and it is hoped that a track licence will be granted soon. A few pics are attached, taken before the start of the Opening Day on-track displays.
As the largest single-seater racing Club in the UK, Monoposto feels that we should support the July car race meeting; in part as a contribution to helping ensure that Mallory is not lost to the sport.
The Mallory event has been scheduled for the day after our Oulton Park double header, and we hope that many competitors will be able to make a racing weekend of it. The Mallory event organisers are also planning a party for the Saturday evening. We will work with CSCC to schedule our Mallory qualification session on the Sunday so that there is time to refettle cars after Oulton. Also: if you enter both Oulton and Mallory, but need to withdraw from the Mallory race due to problems at Oulton, the Club will look benevolently upon Mallory entry fee refund requests.
However, the finances for the Mallory Monoposto race will only be feasible if we get a good level of support in terms of entries, and we would not want to take up track time at the meeting if we can only field a few cars.
Please tell us if you want to support this race:
If you fancy a unique weekend of racing this summer, and a chance to make a real contribution to saving an iconic race track, thenplease let me know asap if you are interested in entering Mallory. As usual we are not looking for commitment at the moment, but we do need to know if this is something that Monoposto members will support.
I’m going to enter! So form a queue behind me, please, for a grid place: 23 left!

The 2013 season saw a 2 meeting, four race series take place after the final round of the St. Cross Electronics Mono Championship. Based on the popularity of this series, the MSA granted a championship permit, so the 2014 running of the Tiedeman Trophy will be classed as a Championship.
The 2014 Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship Sporting & Technical Regulations (Published Copy) [Version 1] are now available for download. Entry forms will be available later in the season.
