Monoposto Racing Club is very pleased to announce that Cartek Automotive Electronics has agreed to award a new Trophy for the Best Prepared Monoposto Car in any class at each Monoposto Championship Meeting. The criteria for the Cartek Trophy will be more associated with preparation rather than purely appearance and will take into consideration a multitude of factors including hard work, ingenuity, safety, as well as cleanliness and overall appearance. It’s expected that these criteria will enable a variety of winners to be selected during the year, highlighting different approaches to achieving excellence in car preparation. Judging will be done by the Monoposto Eligibility Scrutineer and the Championship Co-ordinator. The award will be made on the first day of each meeting, giving the trophy-winning team the opportunity to showcase their work in the paddock.
The Monoposto SUNBAC Nova Award continues in 2012, and the winning novice drivers will win some race entries for the 2013 season. Marcus Sheard won the 2011 award, with Mat Jordan finishing as runner up.
Each eligible driver, accrues class points towards the Nova Award, subject to number of race starters as per Monoposto regulation 1.6.1. As per Monoposto Class Championships, the best 11 of 13 results will count.
After four rounds Luke Rosewell heads the standings.

The Monoposto Racing Club have released the 2012 yearbook. This should give all current competitiors and potential new drivers with a significant level of information.
The Yearbook can be downloaded here. It is in a PDF format so should be readable on most devices.
Representatives from Monoposto Racing Club and F3 Cup were at Brands Hatch this Valentine’s Day for the MSVR Media Day.
Cars were on display in the pit lane garages, were given slow laps behind a camera car, and were later permitted to take to the track for 20 minute test sessions.
The track was cold and damp and greasy from not much activity over winter. Not good enough for any setup work, but good enough to serve as a shake down and to sort out the niggles that can waste significant amounts of expensive track time on a more cruicial test day.
Representing Monoposto were:-
Mono2000
– Tony Bishop & Robbie Watts
Mono2000 Classic
– Henry Fryer
Mono1800

Additionally Simon Davey and MotoMono racer Dax Ward (MD of 2012 title sponsor St. Cross Electronics) were on stage during the press conference talking about Monoposto Racing Club in front of journalists and photographers.
Representing F3 Cup were:
Tristan Cliffe (Dallara F307)
James Cross (Dallara F302/4)
Dave Karaskas (Dallara F301)
James Simons (Dallara F396)
Mark Bailey of Mark Bailey Racing was joined on stage by Aaron Steele, last years F3 Cup Series winner, and Sunoco’s Anders Hildebrand completed the line up.
St. Cross Electronics will be the title sponsor for the Monoposto Racing Club’s championship, which will be called the St. Cross Electronics Mono Championship.
In 2013 the St. Cross Electronics Mono Championship is expected to build on Monoposto’s position as the largest single seater racing championship in theUK, typically attracting entries of more than 50 cars for each round. The Championship will have 13 rounds on leading UK circuits at race meetings organised by Motorsport Vision Racing.
St. Cross Electronics is one ofEurope’s leading cable assembly and cable harness manufacturers. The company’s Managing Director, Dax Ward, who is himself a very competitive Monoposto racer, said: “Our partnership with Monoposto is a great way to further develop the presence that St. Cross Electronics has already successfully built in the motorsport marketplace. Our business in motorsport is rapidly growing, we can be found on British Superbikes through to NASCAR. We are not just a manufacturer, we design and engineer whole projects. One of the greatest attributes about this championship is that individuals can engineer their cars and there are some very good engineers out there racing, from F1 to Aerospace. So this championship really suits our own business ethos.”
Monoposto’s Chairman, Nick Harrison, said: “Monoposto’s championship has gone from strength to strength and we are delighted that St. Cross Electronics has taken the decision to partner with us. We will be working closely with Dax and his colleagues to help them achieve their objectives. In 2012 the St. Cross Mono Championship has arranged a superb race calendar as well as continuing to keep costs as low as possible. With the support of St Cross Electronics and also the help of our race organising partners MSVR we aim to make this season the best yet for our competitors”

MRC unveils 2012 plans
The Monoposto Racing Club has unveiled plans for a 13-round championship 2012, which will be its 54th year.
The 2012 Monoposto Championship will also feature non-championship rounds such as the Spa Summer Classic. “We recognise that the current economic climate makes racing difficult for many competitors,” said club chairman Nick Harrison. “But we believe that our relationship with MSVR has enabled us to provide the most cost effective single-seater racing championship, which should tempt more eligible cars out of their garages and onto the best circuits in the UK.”
