The Snetterton 300 race meeting on 9th and 10th August has been nominated as the 2025 Ray Dackombe Memorial Trophy Meeting.
Ray Dackombe very sadly died in 2008. He was a longstanding and key Member of the Club. His abilities as Paddock Coordinator on Race Days contributed in many ways to the Club’s success, and to everyone’s enjoyment of the racing. After his death a trophy was donated in his memory and a race is nominated each year to be the Memorial race where the trophy is contested.
The Ray Dackombe Memorial Trophy is awarded for performance on track. The criteria is standard “class” points which are awarded for both qualifying and race positions, plus a point for fastest lap in class. Points will be added up for each Monoposto class and the driver with the most points will be awarded the Trophy. Ties will be decided in favour of class wins/poles and if still tied, awarded to the leading point scorer of the largest class.
This is one of the most prestigious Trophies awarded by the Club and competition has been very close for this award in previous years. The overall winner could come from any of our classes.
The Monoposto SUNBAC Nova award is a prize aimed at novice drivers who are racing with Monoposto. SUNBAC, the Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Automobile Club have kindly provided the award.
The Monoposto SUNBAC Nova Awards will be open to any full Monoposto member, who starts their Monoposto Championship year still needing to be observed and to obtain some or all of the initial 6 signatures on their competition licence Upgrade Card. To be eligible for the Monoposto SUNBAC Nova Awards, a competitor will therefore start their Mono Championship campaign as a novice race driver as defined by Motorsport UK, with the car carrying the compulsory black/yellow cross.
The drivers individual scores per round are multiplied by the number of qualifiers in their respective class, and then divided by 10, in recognition of success being harder in busier classes.
These results remain provisional until the conclusion of any judicial and/or technical matters and confirmation that all entered are eligible.

For the 2025 Monoposto Championship, the Mono F3B Class will be extended to welcome the addition of the Tatuus T014 (Gen. 1) F4 chassis with Abarth 1400cc 414-F4 engine running to the in-period FIA F4 requirements, with minimum ride height of 40mm.
These will complement the Mygale F4 previously allowed and the preceding 2010-2013 Mygale and Tatuus cars will also be welcomed.
This will enhance and strengthen our ability to provide cost effective, competitive single seater racing.
Further information will be in our 2025 regulations, now available and a seperate document detailing the permitted specification.

The awards and trophies which are given out annually at our Awards Night (8th February 2025 – tickets still available [hint hint] ) fall into two categories.
One set of awards is given out based on Championship positions – 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class, winner of the Tiedeman Trophy, winner of the SUNBAC Nova award for Novices.
The other set of awards are subjective and have an criteria attached which is open to interpretation. Invitations were sent out for nominations and those received have been shortlisted in the first form below.
The second form concerns the monies raised for the President’s Charity. Donations are received during the course of the year, and this year, it was decided to allow the Monoposto community to choose which worthy charity is to benefit.
