Each eligible driver, ie one bearing the novice cross, accrues class points towards the SUNBAC Nova Award as per current Monoposto regulations.
This score is then multiplied by the number of class starters, and then divided by 10.

Race with Monoposto at Mallory Park this year!
Monoposto has been asked if we can provide a grid for the only car race meeting that is currently planned at Mallory Park in 2014
Key details are:
· Sunday 20 July
· Race organisers are CSCC (who we know well)
· Non Championship race for The Brownhills Glass Trophy
· One grid, all Monoposto classes eligible
· £500 cash awards: Winner takes £250: Other class winners £50; plus trophies for all Classes
· 15 minute qualifier, 20 minute race
· Entry fee £175
Background:
As most racers will know, the company managing Mallory Park went into liquidation last year, and the future of the circuit looked in doubt. However a new management team is now in place. They are bike-oriented but also want to ensure car-racing continues at Mallory. The circuit has missed out on 2014 Championship dates, but CSCC has agreed to organise this car race meeting.
On 1st March the “new” Mallory held an Opening Day, which enjoyed massive support. The circuit looks to be in good nick and it is hoped that a track licence will be granted soon. A few pics are attached, taken before the start of the Opening Day on-track displays.
As the largest single-seater racing Club in the UK, Monoposto feels that we should support the July car race meeting; in part as a contribution to helping ensure that Mallory is not lost to the sport.
The Mallory event has been scheduled for the day after our Oulton Park double header, and we hope that many competitors will be able to make a racing weekend of it. The Mallory event organisers are also planning a party for the Saturday evening. We will work with CSCC to schedule our Mallory qualification session on the Sunday so that there is time to refettle cars after Oulton. Also: if you enter both Oulton and Mallory, but need to withdraw from the Mallory race due to problems at Oulton, the Club will look benevolently upon Mallory entry fee refund requests.
However, the finances for the Mallory Monoposto race will only be feasible if we get a good level of support in terms of entries, and we would not want to take up track time at the meeting if we can only field a few cars.
Please tell us if you want to support this race:
If you fancy a unique weekend of racing this summer, and a chance to make a real contribution to saving an iconic race track, thenplease let me know asap if you are interested in entering Mallory. As usual we are not looking for commitment at the moment, but we do need to know if this is something that Monoposto members will support.
I’m going to enter! So form a queue behind me, please, for a grid place: 23 left!

The 2013 season saw a 2 meeting, four race series take place after the final round of the St. Cross Electronics Mono Championship. Based on the popularity of this series, the MSA granted a championship permit, so the 2014 running of the Tiedeman Trophy will be classed as a Championship.
The 2014 Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship Sporting & Technical Regulations (Published Copy) [Version 1] are now available for download. Entry forms will be available later in the season.
St Cross Electronics Mono Championship
Please note that there are two entry forms this year. One covers any or all of the MSVR-run events and the other is for Thruxton/BARC. Competitors can enter one or more events at a time, or all of them together. You must provide Means of Payment valid for your entries, either credit/debit card details or cheque(s). Entry fee payments are processed 3 days prior to each event. If you pay for multiple entries with a single cheque this will be processed 3 days prior to the first event entered.
We are again providing a 7% (£175) discount for competitors who enter and pay for all SCE Mono Championship events before 31 March 2014. In this case the whole entry fee payment, made by card or cheque, will be processed straight away. The total discounted amount payable for all SCE Mono Championship events (both MSVR & BARC) is £2400, reduced from £2575.

2014 Spa-Francorchamps Entry Form
The Club is planning events in 2014 for which we need to get a feel for the possible number of participants.
Competitors can secure an entry place at Spa (27-29 June) with a £250 deposit. The balance must be paid by 27 May 2014. This highlight event is filling fast so competitors do need to get their entry in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
27-29 June 2014 – Spa Summer Classic
Monoposto is planning to again participate in the Spa Summer Classic, organised by Roadbook. Spa is a fantastic circuit which can start 52 under 2 litre single seaters, and the Spa Summer Classic has been a consistently well-organised event over several years. This year we have agreed to share the track with F3 Cup cars. As in the past we will also invite participation by other drivers with Monoposto-compatible cars. We have to pretty much fill the grid to make this event financially viable for the Club!
Key features are:
- Entry fee for Monoposto cars is £550, for 100 minutes of track time. If you are not already a Club Member the entry fee includes Guest Membership of the Monoposto Racing Club, valid for entry to the Monoposto races at the Spa Summer Classic. Two drivers can share a car at no extra cost.
- Shared use of the F1 pits and paddock for the duration of the meeting
- 2 x 25 minute qualifying sessions on Friday 27 June
- 25 minute race on Saturday 28 June
- 25 minute race on Sunday 29 June, finishes about mid-day to allow time for the return to UK on Sunday
- Rolling starts
- Testing on Thursday is available at additional (low) cost. This is arranged with/paid direct to the circuit on the day. In 2013 the cost was about €50 for 30 minutes. (These testing arrangements are to be confirmed)
- The entry will be arranged into the usual Monoposto classes (subject to entry numbers); plus we can include other specific classes if entry levels justify this. Trophies will be awarded in both races to the first three in each class.
- MSA National A Race licence (or higher) is eligible
- There is very good event website at www.roadbook.be which has full details of last year’s event
- Much of the entry for the Spa Summer Classic is from the UK (eg CSCC), and language is not an issue.
If you have raced at Spa before then you won’t need any convincing about how good the circuit is. If you have not raced at Spa then take this opportunity to do so! It is an amazing experience for any racer.
Due to the high cost running of this event Monoposto has specific arrangements for payment of entry fees, and for refunding fees if an entry is withdrawn before the event.
- For an entry to be accepted the competitor must pay at least £250 when the entry is made, and the balance at least four weeks prior to the event. However it does help the Club to finance this event if you are prepared to pay the whole amount of the entry fee at the outset.
- If an entry is withdrawn for any reason, at Monoposto Racing Club’s discretion we will refund an entry fee that has been paid in part or in whole provided we are able to replace the withdrawn entry with another which has been made after the time that the withdrawal is notified to us in writing/email. Competitors who wish to withdraw can also “sell” their entry to another eligible competitor/car, at any price they wish, provide the change of entry details is notified to us in writing with a replacement Entry Form before Signing On for the event. In practice this means that the earlier an entry is withdrawn the greater the chance is that a refund can be made. Actually the demand for places in this event is such that in recent years we have always been able to make a refund for an entry that have been withdrawn before the event. However please note that the Club will not make a refund for any entry withdrawn after Signing On has opened on 27 June.
Spa Entry Form will be available in January and will be sent first to people who have already expressed an interest.
Please let us know if you are interested in racing at the Spa Summer Classic

2014 Donington Monoposto Test Booking Form
20 March 2014 – Donington Park Testing
We are arranging 4 x 20 minute exclusive Monoposto sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon, with a sensible gap between each to allow time for fettling the car. This is a great way to start your season of Monoposto racing, and was very popular in 2013.
The test sessions are open to any car that complies with Monoposto Regs. Cars must be silenced to MSA requirements.
Drivers do not need to be members of the Monoposto Racing Club, but must have at least an MSA National B Race Licence. We do brief drivers to take a sensible, progressive, approach to the day; to avoid repeated stoppages with the consequent loss of track time while cars are recovered.
Entry costs are:
- Single car entry: One car & one driver for all four sessions for £165. Second driver in the same car: + £15
- Two car “paired” entry. If demand for testing places is high we will allow paired entries ie two cars & two drivers entering together sharing the four sessions between them for £180 ie 2 x 20 minute sessions for each car would cost £90 each. Please note:
The booking for the pair must be made on the same Booking Form, and paid for together.
Paired cars can be run in any order but only one car of the pair can participate in each session. Running both cars at once, or changing cars mid-session, is not allowed.
2014 Donington Monoposto Test Booking Form is now available.
Please let us know if you are interested in a Single or Paired entry (for Paired Entry ideally tell us who you plan to pair with)

After several years without an increase, Club Membership Fees will rise in 2014 from £30 to £40.
The Registration Fee for the St Cross Electronics Mono Championship will remain at £95, and also will include free automatic Registration for the Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship.
Competitors doing only Tiedeman Trophy races will pay a combined Guest Membership & Registration Fee of £20.
Guest Membership & Registration fees for the St Cross Electronics Championship will continue as in previous years.
We will now waive Registration fees for College Teams, as well as our existing waiver for New Drivers.
Guest drivers in both Championships will be eligible to score points, except those competing in the Invitation Class of the Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship.
Membership and Registration Forms for 2014 will be available shortly
The main Monoposto Championship will continue with a similar format to previous years. 14 races at 7 major circuits, 12 to count. All rounds will be twin or double headers. We are very pleased to say that our popular Title Sponsor St Cross Electronics intends to again continue with us in 2014.
Following the very successful Tiedeman Trophy Series this year, the MSA have indicated that they will grant a Championship Permit for the Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship in 2014. This is a very low cost, single grid, Autumn Monoposto Championship which will have 4 races at two double-header events in October 2014, after the main Mono Championship has ended. All Tiedeman Trophy races will count for Tiedeman Trophy Championship honours. The driver from any Class with the greatest number of points will be declared Champion and receive the Frank Tiedeman Trophy, plus £250 worth of free Mono entries in 2015.
We are again arranging a pre-season test at Donington Park.
This is planned for Thursday 20 March and will have 4 x 20 minute track sessions for Monoposto cars during the day.
This is excellent value for money and a great way to start your season.
