2023 Monoposto Championship

2023 Championships will be contested over 13 races held over 6 weekends.

CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

RACE FORMAT:
Most meetings for 2023 will be held over a race weekend with 2 or 3 races per meeting.   Oulton Park and Brands Hatch GP will be a single day meeting. Qualifying sessions and races are typically 15 minutes long, with some exceptions at 20 minutes per session.

Some meetings will have one grid which will have an impact on the number of competitiors able to race. Reserve lists will operate, and naturally the earlier an entry is lodged, the higher the chance of securing your position on the grid.

Twin Header - 2 qualifying sessions & 2 races
Double Header - 1 qualifying session & 2 races
Triple Header - 1 qualifying session & 3 races

On Double and Triple Headers, grid for race 2 is based on fastest laps of race 1, with race 3 using race 2's fastest laps

Mono F3 - Tony Bishop
Mono 2000 - James Rimmer
Mono 2000 Classic - Jim Spencer

TECHNICAL REGULATION UPDATES

Dallara F308-11 cars, running in Monoposto specification (40mm ride height, 25mm restrictor, 560kg minimum weight), will be eligible to run in our 2023 Tiedeman Championship and in our main Monoposto Championship for the 2024 season onwards. For the 2023 Tiedeman Championship F308-11 cars will run as a separate class. The current Mono F3 class will be reviewed during 2023 to decide the class structure for 2024. Future changes relating to newer F3 cars (post 2011) will be considered for 2027 at the earliest.

Mygale Ecoboost/F4 (2014-21) cars will be allowed for the Monoposto Championships. Initially these cars will be placed in Mono F3 class, with this being reviewed during 2023.

Formula Renault 2000 - engine regulation 5.7.3.5 will be amended to allow the intake restrictor size for current Formula Renault cars in Mono F3 (cars as regulation 5.5.1.3) to be 40mm maximum internal diameter.

The Hyperracer X1 chassis will be added as a Permitted Chassis (for Mono 1400) to those listed in 6.6

The club maintains the right to review and adjust balance of performance factors, such as weight and restrictor size, during the season.

Other than the annual progression (where class applicable) there are no planned changes to allowable chassis for Mono 2000, Mono Classic 2000, Mono 1800, Mono 1000 or Mono 1600.

Clarifications will be made on width of Formula Vee wing width (1600 class) and airbox proper sealing requirements (all classes where applicable).
