EVENT FORMAT

The race format will be a double header i.e. 1 qualifying session and 2 races, with qualifying scheduled to be 15 minutes in length and the two races 20 minutes in length per grid.

Qualifying will set the grid for the first race, while the fastest laps in race 1 will set the grid for race 2.

Cars entered in both the main championship and the Tiedeman Trophy will score points according to their finishing positions in their class.    Cars entered on one or the other championship will receive position points for where they finish in class, but will be 'invisible' in regards the other championship.

CIRCUIT History

Donington Park is one of the oldest circuits in the UK having been established in the 1930's and the original track layout is pretty similar to the current one we are used to.    The circuit fell out of use following the outbreak of war in 1939, and it wasn't until the late 1970's when it re-opened thanks to the efforts of Tom Wheatcroft.    In 2010, a failed effort to secure the British Grand Prix almost lead to closure, but the Wheatcroft family got the circuit repaired , and the circuit is currently leased to MSVR who have invested heavily.
