BRANDS HATCH 100

Brands Hatch is celebrating 100 years of racing this season.  The first organised race however was a 4 mile cross country race between runners and cyclists - the runners won.     The circuit was a grass track until after the war and it was turned into an asphalt surface in 1949/50 running the opposite direction to what we now know.   The Druids loop was added in 1954 and at this point the circuit direction was reversed.   The Grand Prix loop was added in 1960.    The Rallycross circuit and Stock cars oval (Clearways through assembly area) are no longer used.

EVENT FORMAT

Monoposto hasn't used the Indy circuit since 2020.  This meeting is the finale of the 2026 Reprise IT Tiedeman Trophy.   Assuming the race is dry and there isn't a safety car or red flag, expect a race distance of between 18 and 20 laps.

The race format will be 1 qualifying session and 2 races, each scheduled to be 15 minutes in length.   Qualifying will set grid for race 1, fastest lap of race 1 will set grid for race 2.

Please note that the timetable is extremely tight between qualifying and race 1 with limited time between sessions,
