BRANDS HATCH 100

Brands Hatch is celebrating 100 years of racing this season.  The first organised race however was a 4 mile cross country race between runners and cyclists - the runners won.     The circuit was a grass track until after the war and it was turned into an ashpalt surface in 1949/50 running the opposite direction to what we now know.   The Druids loop was added in 1954 and at this point the circuit direction was reversed.   The Grand Prix loop was added in 1960.

EVENT FORMAT

The race format will be a double header i.e. 1 qualifying session and 2 races.    Grid for race 2 is decided by fastest laps of race 1.   Each session is scheduled to be 20 minutes in length.

Monoposto only has one grid at this meeting, with a maximum of 38 race starters.   If over subscribed, a reserve list will be in operation.   There may be some late withdrawals and a number of reserves may qualify in anticipation that others suffer misfortune and have to withdraw.

Cars entered in both the main championship and the Tiedeman Trophy will score points according to their finishing positions in their class.    Cars entered on one or the other championship will receive position points for where they finish in class, but will be 'invisible' in regards the other championship.
