The Monoposto Racing Club welcomes entries from other championships, from the UK or from overseas. We offer a guest entry option for drivers which may be ideal.
For overseas drivers, we understand that the allure of racing on some of the famous UK circuits such as Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Donington Park or Oulton Park may feature on their personal ambition lists of circuits to drive, so if we can help facilitate that dream we will. We can also give advice on customs requirements as well as advising on any technical or licensing matters, and may well be able to make introductions to UK teams who could store or assist with preparation and transportation if needed.
Whilst there are some who may wish to hire a car, others may wish to use their own car, so below are some guidance notes concerning cars which run in other championships and series.
All our classes have weight limits and are subject to a minimum ride height of 40mm. We require a high intensity flashing rain light and all cars have to pass a 108 db(A) static noise test. Fire extinguishers and seatbelts have to be dated correctly, and race apparal needs to comply with UK standards.
Cars wearing tobacco sponsorship should be disguised or covered over unless it can be proven beyond doubt that that particular car wore that livery in period.
Please note that for most of our events, we use a standing start procedure rather than a rolling start. Drivers who are not comfortable with a standing start, may elect to start from the pit lane at the back of the grid. Our Silverstone GP event uses a rolling start, that is because with a grid of up to 54 cars, an accident due to a stalled car could be a big one.
Depending on which event you choose, there will be a qualifying session of at least 15 minutes, and two races, each at least 15 minutes in length. Sometimes there are three races of 15 minutes length.
The information below should be correct at time of writing (May 2026)
Austria F3 Formel Cup – currently cars up to 2011 from your Formula 3 Trophy class would be permitted. The Dallara F312 is not currently permitted except by invitation in our Autumn Championship. For eligible cars you will need to comply with the minimum ride height and silencing requirements which established UK teams / car owners can help by supplying extended turnbuckles and other hardware.
Australian Formula Open – many of your cars would fit into one of our existing classes. F3 cars with an inlet restrictor may need to reduce the diameter of the restrictor slightly – eg a F3 engine at 26mm would run with a 25mm restrictor.
Australian Hyper Racer X1 – The rear wing width on a Australia specification Hyper Racer does not comply with Motorsport UK’s technical regulations. Hyper Racer have produced a UK specific rear wing assembly which complies.
BOSS Ireland – cars from the BOSS2 categories (engines up to 2.0 litres) would probably fall into either our F3A, F3B, 2000, 2000 Classic or 1800 classes depending on the nature of the car. The newest car currently eligible in Mono F3A is a 2011 Formula 3 car. Engines have to either be ‘standard’ F3 or a road specification engine with standard internals. The only turbocharged cars permetted are the FIA F4 Gen 1 Tatuus and Mygale.
Cars from BOSS3 category (engines up to 1600cc) would fall into Moto1000 or Moto1400 if the engine is from a motorcycle, or into Mono1600 or Mono1800 if a car based engine (eg Formula Ford Kent).
The Leastone Racing team in Co. Kildare have supported Monoposto for many seasons and can probably offer logistics guidance too.
Classic F3 Association – Class A – 2000cc F3 cars would fit into our Mono Classic class. Cars with mechanical fuel injection should run with a 25mm restrictor. Cars with electronic fuel injection run with a 24mm restrictor. Minimum weight including driver is 560kgs.
Danmark Formel 5 Championship – see other Formula Ford Championships
F1000 (Formula Jedi) – Our Moto1000 and your regulations are already fairly closly aligned. Please note that currently our minimum weight is 10kgs heavier than yours.
Formula Gulf Acadamy – the Ralph Firman designed Van Diemen chassis with motorcycle engine has already run in Monoposto, and whilst Formula Gulf Acadamy is currently on hold, owners could race the cars in Moto1000 with minor updates for compliance.
other Formula Ford championships
– cars running the standard 1600cc Kent engine would run in Mono1600.
– cars running the standard 1800cc Zetec engine would run in Mono1800 or 2000 depending on spec.
– cars running the standard 2000cc Zetec engine would run in Mono2000.
– cars running the standard 1600cc Duratec engine would run in Mono1800.
– cars running the standard 1600cc Ecoboost engine would run in Mono2000.
– cars running the standard 2000cc Pinto engine would run in Mono1800.
Engines modified further may well be accepted (ask, don’t assume) but may be moved into a higher class.
other Formula Renault championships (Formule Renault Historic & Classic)
– cars running the standard 1750cc engine would run in Mono1600.
– cars running thr standard 2000cc from 1999 or earlier would run in Mono2000 (tubular chassis)
– cars running the standard 2000cc engine from 2000 onwards would run in Mono F3B or F3A (Tatuus carbon chassis). F3B with restrictor, F3A without.
– cars running the K4M 1598cc engine would need some discussions over which class it could run in (most probably Mono2000 or Mono1800)
Historic Formula Ford 2000 – your Historic FF2000 cars would run in Mono1800 at 535kgs
Historic Monoposto Racing (NL) – A standard FF2000 car would run in Mono1800. A standard FF1600 cars would run in Mono1600 and your F3 Championship would run in Mono2000 Classic although restrictor sizes would need checking.
Italian F2000 championship – selected cars up to 2012 currently running in your Gold or Silver classes could be run our Monoposto championship. Restrictor sizing may need to be reduced to comply with our rules.
Other cars – please ask for guidance and acceptance.
