Changes to 2014 Technical Regulations

Changes to 2014 Technical Regulations

by admin / Monday, 25 November 2013 / Published in Archive

Monoposto Racing is thriving and the approach adopted by the Club to the Technical Regulations continues to be one of maintaining stability. Some changes are needed to keep our formula up to date, and to address specific issues. The key changes for 2014 are:

Mono2000 / 2000 Classic

A regulation giving the Club the ability to limit the number of dry tyres used in Mono 2000 and Mono Classic 2000 to one set per meeting will be introduced. Number of wet tyres used remains free. Types of tyre used remain free. The Club hopes that all competitors will agree that “throwing tyres at the car” is not compatible with the strong but fair spirit of competition combined with low cost levels that Monoposto Racing seeks to achieve, and will therefore voluntarily avoid this practice. Otherwise the Club will implement the regulatory limit during the season; with appropriate monitoring, enforcement and penalties.

Mono 1800 / 1600 / MotoMono

Chassis eligibility dates for Mono 1800, Mono 1600, Mono Moto will move forward by one year as usual. Eligibility dates for other classes will be unchanged

Mono Ztec

The separate Mono Ztec class for “spec” FF1800 Zetec cars will be merged back into Mono 1800

Mono DTEC for Formula Ford Duratec cars

Mono Dtec Class will be introduced. Key features:

– Spec FF1600 Duratec cars

– Free tyres

– Minimum weight of car + driver: 500Kgs

Tiedeman Trophy

There will be separate Sporting & Technical Regulations for the Tiedeman Trophy Mono Championship. Technical Regulations will be identical to the main Championship except there will be provision for entries in an Invitation Class.

Draft Sporting and Technical Regulations

The Draft 2014 St Cross Electronics Mono Championship Sporting & Technical Regulations (Draft Version 3) are attached. These may be amended and are subject to review by the Championship Stewards and the MSA before they become Final. Changes from the 2013 Regulations are highlighted in grey
